Painting Pony to attend PA Horse World Expo
We’ve had this in the works for a while now, but we’re excited to officially announce that we will be attending the PA Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA from Thursday, February 23 through Sunday, February 26, 2012.
Last year Boomerang and I attended the expo to compete in the Craig Cameron Extreme Cowboy Race, in which we finished 6th in the finals! This year we aren’t competing in the Cowboy Race though, instead we will be in the main hall at booth # 607 & 608! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Minnow will be there too, corralled at our booth and on hand to meet his fans and paint!
We will be bringing many of the ponies original works of art with us as well as Minnow’s special little sidekick Ammo the Dachshund. We’re excited to meet so many new friends and be at the spectacular Horse World Expo. As we approach the event we will have more details for you, but you can also check out expo times and other information HERE. We hope to see you in 2012!
We are currently accepting Sponsors for the PA Horse World Expo. If you are interested in purchasing a banner spot for the duration of the expo please contact us. We will also have deals for advertising on our website too.
Boomerang creates a special Painting
Boomer was thrilled when he was given the opportunity to create a very special painting for his previous owners – to be sent home to the place that he was born. And while this happened back in October (oops for not sharing it sooner) I thought it would be fun to share the special video I helped Boomer make to send “home”.
Boomer had a blast creating this custom painting, which was later titled Peekaboo.
Custom paintings are always available in our shop. You can choose the colors and it comes with a fun video of the artist painting your masterpiece! Makes a wonderful gift for the holidays. Gift certificates are also available.

2012 Calendars
Just in time for Holiday shopping the ponies and Ammo have two new calendars available for 2012. They make a great gift for any pet lover in the family!
Even though in today’s World everyone has calendars and organizers on their phones, it’s still nice to have a happy little calendar to hang on your wall.
And there’s nothing happier than looking at beautiful photos of the Painting Pony Ponies on the beaches of Assateague Island, Virginia.
Check out the ponies’ 2012 Calendar Here.
Ammo’s Calendar is just as fun and features a fun new photograph of him every month.

Boomerang pefects his Bow
Back in June of last year I started teaching Boomerang to bow. We were getting close to perfecting it (In which I tap his leg and ask for bow and he drops his knee to the ground with ease), when I got slightly sidetracked because Boomer in a way taught himself to laydown on command.
Fast forward nearly a year later and I realized I never “finished” the trick. Boomer simply knew to pick up his leg and lower himself to the ground as I help up his foot for him. Not exactly a polished trick, as I really want him to be able to do it himself just like Minnow.
So after a particularly vigorous ride the other day I knew Boomer was sweaty enough to be enticed to put himself in the soft fluffy screenings in our arena. After one or two attempts to ask him to lift and hold his leg himself, he pretty much figured out what I wanted. I started rewarding him even longer while he stayed bowing and eventually started adding a release word for him. Soon I hope that he’ll stay in the bow until I give him his release word.
Not bad for a quick 5 minute training session.
