Paintings of the Painting Ponies
If you follow along on Ammo the Dachshund’s blog, then you may have heard that I had ordered a custom painting of him from Yellow Brick Home.
After receiving Ammo’s painting in the mail I just knew I had to commission some paintings of the rest of my boys. I was so excited when they were waiting for me at home when I got back from Chincoteague!
Aren’t they so cute? I just love them!
You can get your own custom pet portraits from Yellow Brick Home (we were not paid or perked to write this post – just wanted to share our happy little paintings).
From Inspiration to Canvas
Inspiration for painting ponies and I can come from anywhere, and in this case it came when I found this image on Pinterest.
A DIY painting project from Dans Le Townhouse, I knew this idea was just up Minnow’s alley.
So last Sunday Minnow created his very own take on it by painting “Swell Waves” an original 11 x 14 canvas. I covered the top of the canvas beforehand with a piece of kraft so that the top would stay blank and left the rest up to Minnow.
We think it’s pretty cool! This original painting will be making the trek to Chincoteague with us next week during Pony Penning and will be available for purchase at the Chincoteague Pony Centre during their evening shows.
Since we know not everyone can make it to pony penning we’re also making it available for purchase from now until Sunday, July 22nd via our blog. If anyone is interested in purchasing this one-of-a-kind art please e-mail us at info@paintingpony.com for more details. First come first serve.
P.S. Have you been hearing all the news about the stallions from Assateague swimming their herds over to Chincoteague early? Three stallions have done so thus far and there are now 37 horses already in the carnival grounds! Find out more details on our Facebook page.
The Making of a Painting Pony DVD
Last week we spend two days filming with my talented brother from Depthink Productions and Envision Event Media for two brand-new Painting Pony DVD’s.
Minnow got to perform several of his skits for our new DVD’s – something that he thoroughly enjoyed.
Somebody really likes their hero juice!
Even our little Ammo the Dachshund got in on the fun!
We hope to have two new DVD’s available for purchase sometime after pony penning – so make sure you don’t miss it! I think you’re going to really like them!
We encourage you to come check us out at the Chincoteague Pony Centre all next week while Minnow will be performing during the annual Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction.
New April Paintings in the Shop!
Well it’s taken me way too long to get the paintings Minnow created on April 1st at the Point to Point Races up in the shop. Several of them have sold already, but we do have a few left that are available for purchase.
We tried something new this time with a few of Minnow’s paintings. Instead of having him paint on canvas, he painted on bristol board. We then matted them to fit standard size frames and made them available for a budget friendly price of $45!
Below are three of the paintings we still have available in the shop – click on each image to see them in the Shop!
Minnow also painted a new canvas which we titled “April Fool” on account of him painting it on April Fools Day at the Point to Point races.
Purchase it in the shop HERE.
I think all of his new paintings have the perfect touch of Spring in them. Don’t you?
Minnow’s Expo Masterpieces & Sale
While we were at the PA Horse World Expo last week, Minnow created some wonderful one-of-a-kind paintings. Many of them went home with happy new owners, and we have a few still left that are now available in the shop. Each one is unique and different, but they all make me smile. Below is a selection of the paintings that are still available:
“Fairy Tale” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Ocean Bliss” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Heart of the Island” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Calm Breeze” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Misty Sea” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Red Mountain” by Chincoteague Minnow
“Dusted Rose” by Chincoteague Minnow
Several of Minnow’s later works sold, as well as a few that he created during the expo. Below are the paintings he created at the expo that are now happily hanging in new homes:
“Minnow’s Masterpiece” by Chincoteague Minnow – SOLD
“Minnow’s Purple Paradise” by Chincoteague Minnow – SOLD
“Expo” by Chincoteague Minnow – SOLD
“Waves” by Chincoteague Minnow – SOLD
On the last day of the expo we put most of our canvas paintings on sale. And since I know not everyone could be there in person for the sale – Minnow decided that he’d like to extend the sale to his Online Shop as well. So from now until March 31, 2012, enter code EXPO2012 at checkout and get 30% OFF your order!
And thank you to everyone who supported us at the Expo, we hope you are enjoying your paintings!
