Its a Trick Life
On this rainy Friday I’ll share with you some photos of Minnow and I performing at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show last weekend. Minnow was a bit “sluggish” as he was last year as well. I’m not sure why. He was sort of slow to respond to my requests and sometimes wouldn’t do specific tricks. I really don’t know why he was like that – perhaps it was during his normal mid-day nap….who knows? Maybe he didn’t think it was a “real” performance because he wasn’t on a “stage” per say. But no matter, everyone loved him anyway…how could you not?

Great photos! He at least looks like he’s having fun.
Here’s a question I’m curious about, about how long does it take him to do a painting? Do you use regular paint brushes, or have you modified then in some way?
cheers,

The paintings take him as long as I allow him to paint. Could be 5 minutes could be 20 minutes. Depends a lot on the size of the painting. Sometimes he’ll stop on his own and I know he’s done, but most times I have to take the painting away or it will start to look “muddy”. He’d paint for hours on end if I let him. Fun for him, but the paintings don’t turn out as nice.
Minnow is actually EXTREMELY picky about his brushes. He refuses to use traditional wood handled brushes – spits them out. So we use rubber handled brushes. Hopefully they never stop making them or I’m in trouble.
