Clicker Training Interview
This is going to be my last blog post for a few days…….because I’m going on Vacation! I’m ready for a little break. I have a tendency to go, go, go all the time and don’t take much time for myself. So my short trip to the beach is coming at a very good time. Although I will miss the trick ponies greatly! And my Dachshund, Ammo too!
Now back to the post for today….
I wanted to share with you a neat interview with Sharon Foley about clicker training. You can listen to it here. I have to admit that I haven’t gotten to listen to the whole thing yet (everytime I sit down to listen to it I get interrupted). But I will do so shortly! And if not you can all tell me what you learned!
Anyway hope you are able to enjoy the 4th of July weekend with friends and family (and ponies too). See you when I return!

Hi there,
Just to say what a great interview. Just love to find other clicker trainers out there, who do this so that they can have that connection with their horse and also to use positive methods of training and not negative punishing ones. But also that just because the horse gets it and is listening to learn does not diminish our responsibity to ride well within our own bodies. I love the word of focus on each move within ourselves and relation to horse movement. Becoming a better rider within our own bodies will have dramatic effects on the performance any horse of any age will be able to give – obviously all is dependent upon basic confirmation and any injuries that may preclude some movements. But all can go well basically and remain sound and well for their lifetime. As will will in riding well, no long term back injuries, means we will be riding those sound horses well into their vetetran years together. All this can be acheived with one small click, timely aimed, a small treat and patience. Somehow the most powerful things in life are actually the most simple!!!
